Lawyers have for long been considered to be the pillars that hold the legal system in place. These men and women, who have for centuries helped in retaining the solidity of law, dispensing justice and setting the wrongs of the society right. It does not matter, whether these noble professionals defend or prosecute an individual, their only intention is to uphold the rule of law, as set by their government.
However lawyers are also prone to committing mistakes. Sometimes, the eagerness to uphold the rule of law might make a lawyer ignore the facts that might prove vital in dispensing justice in the real sense. It is not uncommon to find that an individual was wrongly convicted for a felony he/she never committed. Although, most of the times this is done intentionally, many times lawyers resort to such malpractice knowingly to further their own self interests.
But then, it in no way means that every lawyer should be viewed with suspicion. After all, one must not forget that some of the most notorious criminals have been bought to justice by the intelligence and persistence of people from this very fraternity.
